Naomi Carson
Dance Instructor

Naomi Carson was born and raised by classical musicians in St. Louis, MO.  When she was 10 she visited at dance class with a friend at the Center for Creative Arts (COCA).  Then and there she fell in love with dance and went home to beg her mom to enroll her in a beginning class.  Soon one class turned into 2 and then 4 and in two years she was dancing almost every day of the week.  She auditioned and was accepted into the pre-professional company called COCADance.  There she was able to work with many skilled choreographers and dancers, perform all around the greater St. Louis area and choreograph her own pieces on the company.  When she graduated from highschool, she went to KU where she studied dance.  Most of her semesters there she performed with the University Dance Company at the Lied center and also with Prairie Wind Dancers out of the Lawrence Arts Center.

When she was a senior in college, she had a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ and He changed her life.  As she prayed and asked God what He had for her, He led her into campus ministry which she's been doing for the last 7 years.  She's used dance as a ministry at KU, her own home church (Morning Star), in Los Angeles and Kansas City.  She's traveled all over the world to share the love of Jesus with other people as well as served and ministered right here on college campuses in the Lawrence and Kansas City areas.

It's been her dream since she became a follower of Jesus to somehow use dance to serve and minister to the next generation.  Her vision is to raise up hundreds of excellent dancers who will love God and honor Him through their craft.
